Finn M Radtke

Dr. Finn M. Radtke, MD, serves as the Head of Research in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Nykobing Hospital, University of Southern Denmark, and Chair of the Geriatric Anaesthesiology subforum of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. As the founder and research lead of the Safe Brain Initiative, he focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring precision patient-centered perioperative care.

Dr. Finn M. Radtke MD, Privatdozent, ass. Professor and Senior Physician as well as Head of Research in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Nykobing Hospital, University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Chair scientific subforum 15 (Geriatric Anaesthesiology), European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. He earned his medical degree at the Universität des Saarlandes, Germany. He completed internships at Vivantes Klinikum Spandau, Berlin as well a Charité University Berlin Germany where he earned his advanced degree as a senior researcher and senior lecturer.  Dr Radtke is founder and research lead of the Safe Brain Initiative and his primary research interest focuses on how to further develop implement, optimize and monitor precision patient centered perioperative care.

Nancy Redfern

Nancy Redfern

Nancy Redfern is a consultant Anaesthetist in Newcastle upon Tyne, with interests in obstetric and neuroanaesthesia.  Her long-term non-clinical interests include staff wellbeing, fatigue, mentorship, education, and workforce.  As Honorary Membership Secretary and Vice President of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland she established mentoring at the Association and started their work on fatigue. 
She now co-chairs the national joint fatigue working group, which works to improve understanding and management of work-related fatigue. As part of this she is involved in research on implementation of safe fatigue risk management in acute hospital settings and speaks widely on wellbeing issues. She is also a member of the Workforce, Working conditions and Welfare group of the European Board where she led the surveys on the impacts of fatigue on trainee and consultant anaesthetists throughout Europe. 
Because of this work she also advises the European Patient Safety Foundation who have a major European project on fatigue risk management in healthcare.

Difficult Airway Management: Member of the Difficult Airway Group, Portuguese Society of Anaesthesiology, and co-author of Difficult Airway Guidelines in 2015. Medical Education in Airway Management and Initial Assessment of Polytrauma Patients.
